No disposables! Ban on single-use plastics begins in Mexico City

The ban on the commercialization, distribution and delivery of plastic bags in all establishments in Mexico City began. This year, the reform of Article 25 of the Solid Waste Law came into effect. First, this law was created because the situation in which we live is getting worse and worse. The people need to change their habits.

So what the government does is to create the law of solid waste, in Mexico City prohibits all merchants to use plastics with short shelf life as a means to sell food or any other type of commerce. The problem of garbage and its disposal has become a crucial global issue because the waste we generate, in addition to causing significant social and economic costs to governments, has a high environmental cost for the entire population and the planet.

This is done to improve living conditions, increase life expectancy, because with so many older adults living in the world they are more at risk of acquiring respiratory diseases, and this can begin to stop with the simple fact of no longer buying plastics or littering in the street.

However, there are people who do not see the seriousness of the situations and ignore the rules, continue to give these items (plastic cups, disposable plates, disposable cutlery), this makes it impossible for us to progress, they set a bad example. Children follow in their footsteps and this affects future generations.

Finally, nowadays more people have joined the good side, although not the majority, but it is already a great advance for society and the environment. The whole people need to unite to get everyone to change bad habits and make them see that this is a project that benefits all living beings that inhabit the planet earth.
